The inaugural Asia-Pacific Food Forum (APFF) opened in Brunei Darussalam

               On 22 April 2026, the inaugural Asia-Pacific Food Forum (APFF) opened in Brunei Darussalam, bringing together regional leaders, scientists, and farmers to accelerate agrifood systems transformation. Organized by the FAO and the Government of Brunei Darussalam, the forum prioritizes investment, innovation, and the empowerment of women and youth.
               During the event, FAO Assistant Director General Alue Dohong designated the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ IGSNRR and Mahidol University’s Institute of Nutrition (INMU) as OCOP Centres of Excellence for their advancements in traceability and nutrition science. Dohong stated these centers will empower smallholder producers to enhance climate resilience, food safety, and sustainable yields across the region.
