On Saturday November 24, 2026, the Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University was honored to host a site visit by the 2025 Prince Mahidol Award Laureate in Public Health, Dr. Walter Willett, MD DrPH, Professor of Nutrition and Epidemiology from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The visit included a tour of INMU’s laboratory facilities, demonstration kitchen, pilot plant, and technical meeting with INMU’s Director Assoc. Prof. Chalat Santivarangkna, INMU Senior Advisors Assoc. Prof. Emorn Udomkesmalee and Assoc. Prof Pattanee Winichagoon, and faculty members in food science and nutrition. The technical meeting focused on important population food and nutrition challenges and opportunities currently facing Thailand and the globe, the roles of INMU and its partners in helping to address national and regional challenges, Prof. Willett’s suggestions about national research and evidence-based policy priorities in food and nutrition, and avenues for continued scientific and academic collaborations between INMU and Harvard colleagues
