Assoc. Prof. Chalat Santivarangkna, Director of Institute of Nutrition Mahidol University, along with INMU stuffs participated Homage-paying ceremony in front of the statue of H.R.H. Prince Mahidol of Songkla on the occasion 55th Year Anniversary of the Royal’s Bestowal of its Name and the 136th Year Mahidol University at Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

On March 2, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Chalat Santivarangkna, Director of Institute of Nutrition Mahidol University, Asst. Prof. Suwapat Kittibunchakul, Assistant Director for Academic Administration and Development along with INMU stuffs participated Homage-paying ceremony in front of the statue of H.R.H. Prince Mahidol of Songkla on the occasion 55th Year Anniversary of the Royal’s Bestowal of its Name and the 136th Year Mahidol University at Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
          After that, Mahidol University presented the 13th Honorary Lecture, Professor Dr. Chatchawan Osathanon, on “Knowing the Changes in the World towards Adapting Thai Higher Education” by Professor. Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, former Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs along with a ceremony showing the kindness of elders Professor Emeritus Dr. Kraisid Tontisirin, advisor and former director of the National Nutrition Council, was honored to participate in the ceremony.
          In the afternoon, there was an award presentation ceremony to Mahidol University staff and alumni for the year 2023. This year, INMU lecturers and researchers received awards in various categories include:
          1. Dr.Nilesh Prakash Nirmal, Researcher affiliated with the Food Science Unit, has received the “Mahidol University Researcher of the Year 2024: Rising Researcher in Science and Technology” award.
          2. Asst. Prof. Varongsiri Kemsawasd and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalat Santivarangkna, who received petty patent registration: “Probiotic gel form Jasmin (Hom-mali) brown rice and mango and the production process.”
          3. Prof. Dr. Visith Chavasit and Ms. Juntima Photi, who received Petty Patent registration: “Glucose Syrup Chlorhexidine Gel Formula For the roots of primary teeth.”
          4. Assoc. Prof. Kunchit Judprasong, Mr. Piyanut Sridonpai, Mr. Sochannet Chheng, Miss Chanika Chimkerd, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sitima Jittinandana received petty patent registration. “UVB light cabinet Two-sided light source type and how to increase vitamin D2 and vitamin D4 intake.”
          5. Assoc. Prof. Dr Thunnalin Winuprasith, has been honored with the Mahidol University Young Alumni Awards.
          6. Outstanding personnel awards for the year 2023 in various categories include:
               – Miss Donnapa Nuamphet, University budget employee
               – Assoc. Prof. Thunnalin Winuprasith, Academic university employee, Period of consecutive work not exceeding 10 years.
               – Assoc.Prof. Warangkana Srichamnong, Academic university employee, Period of consecutive work not exceeding 10 years but not exceeding 20 years.
               – Assoc. Prof. Chaniphun Butryee, Academic university employee, 20 years or more of consecutive work experience.
               – Ms. Numphung Rungraung, Professional or general support university employee, duration of consecutive work not exceeding 10 years.
               – Ms. Sasiumphai Purttiponthanee, Professional or general support university employee, Period of consecutive work not exceeding 10 years but not exceeding 20 years.
          7. Ms. Phornthip Thapprathum received a Mahidol University badge.

          In addition, during the event there was an exhibition on the topic “Afgekia mahidoliae, Marking the 25th anniversary of Afgekia Mahidoliae (Kan Phai Mahidol), the symbolic plant of Mahidol University” at The Foyer, Prince Mahidol Hall.
