Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University (INMU) and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop Thailand’s first comprehensive nutrition database for packaged food and beverage products. This collaboration combines academic expertise with industry insights to strengthen the nation’s nutrition information system and support healthier dietary choices. The database will provide accurate nutritional profiles for thousands of products, serving as a valuable resource for health professionals and consumers alike. The MoU was signed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalat Santivarangkna, Director of INMU, and Mr. Charoen Kaewsuksai, President of the Food Processing Industry Club under the FTI, and witnessed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuraporn Sahasakul, Head of the Food and Nutrition Database Unit at INMU.
