On May 15, 2025, the Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University, through its Committee on Safety, Occupational Health, and Working Environment, organized a workshop titled “Safety Management System for Science Laboratories.” The workshop was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aikkarach Kettawan, a trainer of assessors from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), with the aim of enhancing safety standards in laboratory operations. The event was held at the Aree Valyasevi Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, INMU.
Participants gained knowledge of fundamental laboratory safety principles, risk assessment, chemical and hazardous waste management, the proper use of personal protective equipment, and emergency response procedures. In addition, hands-on training sessions were conducted to ensure that participants could effectively apply their knowledge in practice.
The Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University, recognizes the importance of fostering a culture of safety within the organization and sincerely hopes that this training will be of great benefit to personnel working in science laboratories.
