On April, 22, 2025 Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening ceremony the International Conference titled of “the 25th anniversary of the Thai-Laos Cooperation Project on Medical and Public Health Capacity Building under the Royal Initiative” held at the Holiday Inn & Suites Vientiane in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalat Santivarangkna, Director of Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University (INMU) and Dr. Sueppong Gowachirapant, Head of the Nutrition Training Program, were granted a royal audience. Dr. Santivarangkna delivered a keynote lecture titled “Weaving Together: Multidisciplinary Approach to Sustainable Nutrition Security in Laos,” highlighting shared experiences, development strategies, and practical solutions to address nutritional challenges and promote food security in Thailand.
The knowledge and insights shared during the session proved highly valuable to attendees, enabling them to apply the concepts to their work in food and nutrition. This contribution plays a vital role in strengthening public health systems and advancing sustainable health and well-being for the people of the Lao PDR.
