On October 30, 2024, a delegation from the University of the Philippines Diliman, led by Associate Professor Dr. Rowena Grace R. Sanchez and Associate Professor Dr. Myrna Benita Z. Luna, visited the Institute of Nutrition at Mahidol University. They were welcomed by Assistant Professor Dr. Suwaput Kittibunchakul, Deputy Director of Administration and Academic Development, and Assistant Professor Dr. Nattapol Tangsuphoom, Director of the Master’s Program in Food Science for Nutrition (International Program). This visit aimed to study Mahidol University’s curriculum and teaching methods to inspire improvements in the University of the Philippines’ own Food Science programs.
The benchmarking activities included curriculum analysis and review, knowledge-sharing sessions with faculty, visits to state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories, and discussions with current students to gain insights into their experiences and research projects.
This collaboration seeks to elevate food science education and enhance the competency of graduates at an international level. The exchange of knowledge and expertise between the institutions will support their goal of producing highly qualified graduates in the field of food science.
