Associate Prof. Dr. Chalat Santivarangkna, Director of the Institute of Nutrition and the Vice Chair of One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) Regional Organizing Group (ROG), attended an International Capacity Building Workshop on the GIES methodology for Special Agriculture Product (SAP)

               13-15 September 2024, Associate Prof. Dr. Chalat Santivarangkna, Director of the Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University and the Vice Chair of One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) Regional Organizing Group (ROG), attended an International Capacity Building Workshop on the GIES methodology for Special Agriculture Product (SAP) development from Sept. 11 to 21, 2024, in Beijing. The workshop is organized by FAO in partnership with the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research at the Chinese Academy of Sciences IGSNRR-CAS.

               The OCOP initiative supports the sustainable development of SAP value chains through (1) the delivery of innovative and technical packages, (2) the provision of policy advice, (3) the establishment of technical and innovation networks, and (4) the launch of regional platforms to promote innovative approaches, sharing of best practices and knowledge.

               This network contributes to the FAO Strategic Framework 2022–2031 and its goal of achieving “Four Betters”—better production, nutrition, environment, and life for all, leaving no one behind.
