On October 23, 2023 Associate Professor Dr. Warangkana Srichamnong, Deputy Director and Dr. Pattamaporn Joompa, Researcher of Institution of Nutrition, mahidol University attended as a speaker on the topic “Enhancing food and nutritional security through innovation and application of shared data” and the another topic “Climate change: situation and challenges of indigenous peoples’ food systems” respectively in the workshop “Fostering Transdisciplinary Collaborations at the Nexus of Climate and Health for Global Environmental Change Research – A Way Forward” between 23-27 October 2023.The conference hosted by the U.S. Department of State in collaboration with the Foundation. National Science Foundation (NSF), Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), and the National Science Council Research and Innovation (NRCT) at Anantara Siam Hotel, Bangkok.
This conference aims to exchanges between research funders, researchers and regional stakeholders (including policy makers) and non-academic partners who are driving work on climate and health issues and highlighting the value of interdisciplinary collaboration, multilateralism and multisectoral coordination for advancing health, food, and water security across climate-sensitive issues. This meeting had more than 100 regional attendees in Southeast Asia.
